International Relations grad from the University of Arkansas.  Served a two year LDS Mission in McAllen, Texas Mission which included for me Laredo, McAllen, and much more of the Rio Grande Valley.  This time of my life is when I became so deeply interested in immigration and the border issues.  In Laredo I lived across a railroad yard from the river which was equal to about 500 yards.  Within weeks of living so close to the border I would hear the pants of immigrants swish at night as they were still wet from the waters of the river.  The blog was started as a desire to see if there was any way by simply informing people more of the situation that they could treat each other with love and respect regardless of documents or nationality.
I live in Arkansas with my wife Lindsey, our son and our little dog Mia. We love living in the Ozarks and spend much of our time enjoying the surrounding areas and cheering on the Razorbacks.  This is my second venture into blogging and is already more successful after a rough attempt at a sports related blog with my brother fizzled out last year.  The difference I hope is when it is all said and done peoples lives are impacted much more by immigration.

Nathan Bogart
I am an immigration attorney practicing in Kansas City, Missouri at the firm of Bogart Immigration Law, LLC.  Prior to starting my own practice, I was associated with the Rogers, Arkansas firm of Matthews, Campbell, Rhoads, McClure & Thompson, P.A., where I also focused on immigration matters.  I have always been interested in immigration-related issues, but immigration really became a passion for me while living in Madrid, Spain.  While there, I experienced the Spanish immigration process and became highly involved with immigrant communities from Latin America and Africa as an LDS missionary.
Upon returning home, I began working as an English teacher, interpreter and translator.  I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2007 with a degree in Political Science & Latin American Studies and again in 2010 with a J.D.
I have been working with immigrants in Spain, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas since 2002 and I greatly enjoy getting to know and help people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.  I initially started blogging about immigration issues back in May 2009, and joined Ciudadano Informado in June 2011.
When I’m not practicing law or blogging, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, cycling, cooking and watching college football and soccer.

I am currently pursuing a PhD in history at the University of Arkansas. I concentrate on U.S. history with an emphasis in the South and environmental history. In addition to how humans interact with their natural environments, I am also interested in race relations, politics, and economics. In addition to living in Arkansas I have spent some time in Utah. I served a two-year religious mission there and I regularly worked with immigrant populations from Latin America and refugees from Africa and Eastern Europe. After my mission I returned to Utah to attend the University of Utah. While in Utah I worked in an alternative school in which all the students were wards of the State with a high percentage being either children of immigrants or immigrants themselves. I have studied at the Universidad de Oviedo in Spain and have traveled Western Europe and Northern Africa.
When I’m not writing and researching about the South or posting on this blog, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing guitar and piano, reading, running and collecting baseball cards.

Sam Cannon

Sam is pursuing a PhD in 20th & 21st century Latin American literature and film at the University of Texas at Austin. He studies representation and identity, urban spaces and violence in literature and film. Sam was raised and home schooled in Louisiana. At the age of 19 he moved to Mexico where he spent two years as a missionary. Since returning to the US in 2005 he has approached Latin America through the lens of literature and film to better understand how personal, national and political issues are elaborated in creative texts and films.

I am currently doing graduate work on the History of Religious Tolerance and Intolerance, with a current focus on 19th century American religion. I grew up in Denver and spent two years as a minister in the San Antonio/Austin area. Most of my work there was among the Spanish speaking population, though I also worked with refugees and immigrants from almost every continent. Later, while attending Brigham Young University, I spent three years as an instructor in a Spanish language immersion program for young ministers. Though I’m not directly invested in the field of immigration, I am fascinated by the complex effect it continues to have on religions throughout the world particularly in the day-to-day lives of individuals. I am presently pursuing my Masters at the University of Arkansas.
Outside of serious matters I enjoy arguing, debating, reading, and living life with my wife and son, whose exploits can be found at our personal blog.
I can also be reached on twittergoogle+, or email.
