Inform US Citizens Turns One

Last summer, Inform US Citizens was

founded as Ciudadano Informado by a couple of Arkansans.  The idea

was simple, albeit ambitious: inform U.S. citizens about the complicated and misunderstood

issue of immigration.

A little over a year later, our name has changed, we’ve added more contributors, expanded our reach beyond Arkansas, met wonderful people involved in the immigration debate and seen a renewed focus on the issue from the national media due to the presidential election and state immigration laws such as those passed in Alabama, Arizona, Utah and others.

In the coming weeks and months, we look forward to watching for the Supreme Court’s ruling on Arizona’s immigration law, observing the implementation of the Obama administration’s recent announcement of deferred action for immigrant youth and continuing in the pursuit of comprehensive immigration reform.

Now is an exciting time for the immigration debate in the United States and we look forward to lending our voice to the discussion for some time to come.  Here’s to another year!

This has been a crazy year but I am so proud of what has now been created here at Inform US Citizens.
