On Friday, I was lucky to be able to stand with a group of activists in front of Senator Roy Blunt’s Kansas City office in support of comprehensive immigration reform.
Endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in his last campaign, Mr. Blunt has yet to publicly state his support of comprehensive immigration reform, despite the chamber’s vocal support of the bill proposed by the so-call “gang of eight” in the U.S. senate.
With Senator Blunt’s silence on the issue, he has naturally become the target of more than one peaceful demonstration in the hope that he will come down in favor of the business, family and human rights benefits contained in the bill.

Friday’s demonstration was not the only opportunity to get involved in the dialogue surrounding comprehensive immigration reform in the Kansas City area. Stay tuned for more opportunities in coming weeks, including another demonstration in the works for this Friday near the plaza.
